He learned to sit and shake with both paws weeks ago so he's very smart. We are always laughing because it seems like he does something new every day. Most importantly, we love him very much. Dear Debbie,
Thank you for asking about Onyx. He's doing great! I must have missed your earlier e-mail and survey - I was traveling a lot in the spring - sorry about that. Here's the completed survey and a picture we just took a few days ago.
I think your program is wonderful. Everyone loves Onyx. He is so friendly and sweet, both with people and other animals. One of our neighbors regularly invites him over to play with her Labrador and they've become good friends. He is always on his best behavior at home and with others, and has grown out of the puppy nipping and chewing behaviors . . . except for the occassional dress shoe with teeth marks we still find under the bed . . .
He has been healthly, with no physical problems at all, and he is very intelligent I think he learned his basic obedience commands faster than any other dog in his class. We recommend you and your dogs to everyone that asks and I would be glad to be a reference if you ever need one.

I know Joe wrote to you but I had to write as well. I've never had a dog like Aiko. It sounds crazy but he's perfect. He's sweet, super smart, and so kind and gentle with smaller animals and kids. Aiko has changed our lives. Our goldendoddle loves to snuggle and go for walks, but Aiko loves adventure. So he has brought much adventure into our lives. We have so much fun with him. I taught him to fetch our slippers. Every once in a while when he can't find my slippers he will try to slip me my husbands size 13's thinking perhaps I won't notice... but I call him out on it so he goes and finds the right ones and brings them to me. He loves to learn... He's the smartest dog I've ever had.
Thank you Debbie! If you need anything else from us let us know. Oh! As far as the shedding goes, he does shed a little. More than my goldendoddle but not nearly as much as a regular lab. Our cat sheds more than Aiko. He's amazing, thanks again.

Here are some more photos and a little bit about Aiko's personality.
At about 7 months old he had his first run in with water. We were hiking in the woods and found a stream. As soon as that toe hit the water he got a crazy happy look on his face and ran around wild! So here he is at 8 months on his first beach trip. The waves scared him at first but now he hops waves and is a regular surf dog! He loooooves the water.... I'm not sure which he loves more, the water or his ball. But once we blend the two... throwing the ball into the water, maaaan, he's in heaven!

At 8 months he completed puppy training. He was the alpha in the class. But he's not aggressive. Even at the dog park, the other dogs respect him, they don't challenge him, he very quietly and for lack of a better term: he very 'cooly' asserts his dominance with unspoken words. Maybe it's his size. I'm 5'7" and his head comes up to my wrist. Some people confuse him for Irish wolf hound and Irish Setter. He's the coolest dog in the world... gets along with all animals, both dogs and cats, as well as all people... even the people I don't like. 😉 He's good with kids, in fact a neighborhood boy around age 8 comes over to take Aiko to our field and throw the ball with him. We often wish we had children for Aiko to play with regularly. We also notice that he would be a wonderful hunting dog. He loves the outdoors. We run him 1 - 2 hours per day, other wise he's restless.

One of his favorite places, the bed. He snuggles like no other dog I've ever had. He's the sweetest guy in the world. Every morning he wakes me up by climbing into the bed and snuggling for 10 minutes and then he gets up and grabs my slippers (as I trained him too) and we go outside.

Dear Debbie,
We are so pleased with our little Chase. He is the perfect dog! We enjoy him so much. He is the most adaptable dog...he loves to go boating with us, plays on the beach, travels easily and loves to run all over the yard and "chase" balls. He is great on his leash and enjoys a nice long walk He is so friendly with other dogs and loves to play. He is a great companion and very smart, too! Everyone marvels at what a great dog he his.
Anyway, we have kept his fur trimmed this summer and he looks great. I wanted to send you an updated picture of him. He truly is a dream! We love him so much. We cannot thank you enough for bring our family so much joy.

Hi Debbie,
We now live in Florida enjoying the sun and beach. Mhina loves to swim and play in the sand. She is the best thing that's ever happened to me. I always tell folks back home to look into your farm. My only regret is that I didn't adopt her sister. Thanks so much!
